11) Describbe the early developement of u.s. political parties. the first political party didnt start till 1879. washinton was against it. he preached that we cant have political parties. during washingtons second turm they divided the nation. hamilton and jefferson were the two fisrt people to have politcal paries. one was republican and the other was democratic. jefferson thinks we should be a farming country. hamilton vision is what happened.
12) describe the accomplishments of washington jefferson and jackson as president- washingtons vice president was john adams (runner up) before he became presidents and lead the something economy. He created alot of standards as president. everything he said or did was a president. being the first presidents he set alot of them. jefferson- he was the point of first secratary of state. he surved as vice preident as john adams. arron burr was his vice president he was realected in 1804. the lpouisianna purchase was is greatest accomplish of the year. they baught it from france. jackson. tennesees first us representative. 1824 he ran for president. 1825 he was realected to run for presidnet and he won. he was a citizen president. and he wanted to keep power out of the hands of the wealthy. he believe in appealing the masses. he strenthened the federal governement as the leading government of our country. the trail of tears. he was not helpful toward native american. thousand died.
13) descrive the causes and affects of the war of 1812- between the british and the U.S. caused- economic issues, depression, impressment was the biggest issue, great pbritian stopped us ships and forced people they thought were from great britian and would take them back to british shipe. unfinished business between us and great britian. affects- the treaty of ghent was astablished. it ended the war. this war didnt really need to happen. there wasnt really a huge cause of the war. after great and britian slowly started to get along better.
14) describe the causes and affects of the texas war for independence- mexico and texas- mexico was inviting americans to live in texas. they started to think that they deserve to live on their own there. mexico foreced the people to become catholic and follow mexican rules. and they had to speak spanish. started the push ofr independence- the battal of gonalus. they gave gonalus a canon to protect themselves. santaana was gonaa take it away from them. battle of the alamo. mexico won it. they had like 1500 troops and the other had 100. the texans won they got to become free and were their own country.
15) descirbe the causes and affects of the mexican american war. causes- 1850. when we got texas mexico thought they we wanted their land. they went to war because the mexicans thought we invaded them. affects- we got about 50% of mexicos land. we had to pay a little for it. we got the mexican cection. mexico despisded us for many years. and it lead to alot of distrust.
16) describe reasons why some peolpe move western- some wanted adenture jobs wealth and manly land. people could either stay and have poverty or go west and have a better life. people just wanted to find some type of rish. gold iron. cities were becoming very crowded and over populated the governemtn encourged this movement. tto find a place to practice their religion
17) descibe major events compromises and events thatl leead up to the civil war- slavery south had the slaves. northeners didnt really care about slavery. two guys lived in the ciciety to help freee slaves. there was the election of president of lincoln. alot of stated knew he was againts slavery. lincoln wanted to leave slavery where it is he didnt want to expand it west. so south left. the united states wanted to be more independent.
