Today Mr. Bruns was gone. We had a sub. It was also a work day.

Taxes-- The U.S. raised taxes in order to pay for the war.
Economy-- May control were put on the U.S. economy. Prices were changed and waged were different
Labor-- Women took over most of the jobs when the men went to fight in the world war II.
After the men got back many men just went back to what they were doing before they got drafted. Most women that were okay with that gave up their jobs. But, some women kept their jobs.
