We started off class today by watching the rest of the video. Where we left off they were talking about how these men killed this lady. They did it so that they could continue with illegally cutting down the trees in a rainforest. The reporters went to this site where Native Americans live. To be able to get into their land and be welcomed, the reporters had to get baptized and they were also given special Indian names. Once this was done, they talked with the Native Americans. The people talked about how their homes and land were in trouble and disappearing. There is no law stating a certain amount of air pollutants a company is aloud to produce into the air. They can pretty much do whatever they want when it comes to causing pollution. I thought this video was really good and it told a lot about what was going on in the world. It seemed to have a lot to do with our project even though Mr. Bruns told us he made up the project before the show was aired. After the movie was over, we studied the Europe map for the rest of the period. The test for the map will be on Monday and Tuesday. I have a tennis meet on Monday though, so I will get to take it Tuesday.
