Rommel commited suicide so he would go down as a great General. The Britain General was Montgomery, when WWII broke out he was sent to France with the Britain Expeditionary team. The US general was Patton. Patton was very big on himself. Patton was very tough on his soldiers, one time he slapped and beat up one of his soldiers.Patton and Montgomery hated each other even though they were allies. They wanted to see who could take down Rommel first. Patton died in a car crash.
Lucas, Josh, Brooke, and Kelsey went next their topic was the Italian/Mediterranean Front. Dwight D. Eisenhower was the general who planned the attack on Italy. Harold Alexander was a British office who fought in the invasion of Sicily. George S. Patton was for the US. Benito Mussolini was the General for Italy. Alfred Guzzani was another commander and cheif who was loyal to Mussolini. Rodolfo was another commander who oversaw invasion of Sicily. Battle of the Atlantic was all naval, they used a lot of U boats. Battle of Ortano was one of the main battles that happened in Italy. The Battle for Rom was major battle. They wanted to capture Rome because it was the capital, and we did. The Italian Campaign- The German forces surrendered on May 2, 1945 in Italy. After The Allies won over Germany they attack Sicily next and then invaded Italy's mainland. Mussolini joined hitler, Italy had a Fasicsm government. Mussolini got arrested? Italy had a weak military, out dated. They had a navy but no aircraft carriers at first. The soldiers didn't know what to fight for.
