Today in class a few of us donated to the Army thing, and then we went over the European Map. Then we continued our presentations:
SPecies Destruction- when a species is becoming endangered or is extinct.
- It is one of the Greatest enviromental worries surprassing global warming and population.
- why we care- for the value of seeing it, option of seeing it, existance value for people who have never seen or will see the animal in it's natural habitat. The Circle of Life also affects everybody, what happens if all fish die??
- Nearly fourty percent of species are listed as threatened.
- Of 44,838 3,000 are critically endangered.
- Orginizations: wild life conservation society, and national wildlife federation.
- What you an do, cut rings on six packs, recycle, don't poach or do illegal dumping, don't buy stuff made of animals.
Then we decided to do some of our free/ not so free choice blog discussions:
- There was a recent suicide bombing in Pakastan that killed six adults and one child, wounded twenty five people including police officers from the building that the bombers ran into, with a school nearby.
- Computers at School were taking picture of kids bringing school computers home, and the camera would take pictures of the kids while they were home, tracking them and taking more picures than necessary and even turning on while the computers were off. This feature does help to get the laptops back but does invade the students privacy while at home.
- Two Top Al-Quida Leaders were taking down by Iraq officials. One was a leader of the military forces and has been responsible for many of the suicide and bombings taking place and will be a major would to the Al-Quida forces. Another that was taken down was the leader of the religious goings ons. And sixteen other suspects were also taken down, and questioned.
- Obama has a new nuclear policy, he's trying to stop all nuclear weapons everywhere, starting with the US stating that we are not aloud to attack countries under this treaty with nuclear weapons even if they attack us without nuclear weapons. It has stopped all our nuclear development.
- The treaties of nuclear power from 45-60, all of it mainly started when we dropped a nuclear bomb on Japan. The first treaty was in ninteen fifty and called for a ban on nuclear weapons wich did not get passed. Then in ninteen sixty seven an outer space treaty prohibited countries from using weapons in space. In 1968 we created the nuclear non poleration treaty that kept countries that didn't have nuclear weapons from developing nuclear weapons.
