Today in class we looked over the blog topics again and I have the 1960 election. I have Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (Missile Defense System). Then we did some more on the D-Day presentation which was more battles so we didn’t need to know much more on them. Operation Overlord was basically the invasion of the beaches of Normandy up until Paris was liberated and France was free from Germany. Ardennes aka Battle of the Bulge took place in the Ardennes mountains at the end of the war. Germany attacked the front line in one place and pushed the Allies back creating a bulge in the line. It was Hitler’s last ditch effort to win the war but it eventually failed. We eventually pushed Germans back and met the Soviets at the Elb River but we decided that the Soviets would be able to take Berlin. Germany and Berlin were split up into four sectors.
