Today in history I continued to look up information for my blog. The computers were barely working so it was very hard to find information. Here is what I found out about. I learned that the two sides would sing Christmas Carols back and forth to each other. The British would sing in English and the Germans would respond in German. I also learned that the most commonly sung song was Silent Night.Today I also learned that the two sides that played in the football game at the memorial were the First Battalion of the Royal Welsh and the German Panzergrenadier Battalion 371. The memorial was placed in Frelinghien, France. Frelinghien was the place where the Christmas Truce of 1914 took place. That is what I learned today.
