Today we had a workday for the New Deal Project. I first started looking up the Agricutural Adjustment Act of 1933.I learned that it restricted agricultural production during New Deal. iIt also payed farmers to reduced crop area. Reduced farming surplus. Effectively raised the prices of crops. Farmers gained stability once again Farmers were paid subsidies by the government. They got paid for not planting extra crops. This act created a new agency that was called the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. It was also considered to be the first U.S. farm bill.I also looked up the Judiciary Reorganization Bill of 1937. I learned that the Judiciary Reorganization Bill of 1937 was a bill proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt, which would give him the power to assign an additional Supreme Court Justice for every Justice that was currently over the age of 70 years old. He thought of the idea because many of his New Deal ideas were turned down by the current Supreme Court Justices.
