8.4 Dawn Of Mass CultureExplain what people did for entertainment in the late 1800's and early 1900's.- Middle class went to parks, amusment parks. Cities made amusment parks, city parks, and peers for the citizens to escape from the busy city. Coney Island was in Brooklyn there was prostitutions, gambling, and amusment parks, it allowed people to get away but it lost popullarity after WWII. Bikes, "saftey bikes" with the same size wheels. became bigger men and women would do this activity. Coca Cola had traces of cocanie in it, and everybody started to like it more. Boxing was a popular sport, people would listen to it over the radio to see who would win and it was just a good past time. Radios became common in houses in the 20's. Baseball became popular too, people would go to games more and more and cheer for the home team. Department stores, public venders, chain stores, and nation wide advertisements all rose up at this time. New Literature became main stream, Mark Twain, newspapers, etc.Sports(tenis, boxing, baseball), parks(amusement, city), stores, bikes, horse races.-Breann Lehr
