Allowing homosexuals into the military has been and issue for sometime now. For now, the military allows the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, where basically anyone can join the military whether homosexual or not, but if it were to be revealed that you're homosexual you wouldn't be able to serve. Now that allowing openly gay people into the military is being seriously considered, many conflicts are coming about.

The Marine Corps' commandant says that if homosexuals are allowed into the military, he won't make any of the troops to sleep in the same room as a homosexual would. Questions on whether new housing arrangements would have to happen or not are becoming a big issue on this topic. Some people think there would have to be BEQs, which means that there would be one person living in one room, rather than two, like there is now.

Obama feels that it's unfair that gays aren't allowed to serve openly in the military, and he just wants to make it so that it's fair for everyone and the military keeps doing its job effectively.

I feel that the military should allow anyone in. It shouldn't matter what your sexuality is because everyone would be there to do the same thing, protect our country. It's ridiculous to me that they are so worried about it, they treat homosexuals like they're not people, which they are. I think anyone should be allowed in, that's my opinion anyway.
