A new kind of survey has recently been reported and says that most children are using household items such as nail polish and air fresheners in place of using illegal drugs to get the same effects. Normal household items that are just lying around the house can be incredibly dangerous to a teen who is being put under peer pressure or just wants to try what everyone else may be doing. The survey reported that 12-year-olds are using inhalants more than any other illegal drug combined.

The scary part is that inhalants are legal and are incredibly easy for a teen to get access to. It is possible for someone to die after just one time trying inhalants (sudden sniffing death). It causes your heart to beat so fast that it can result in cardiac arrest.

Drugs can ruin ones life and it leaves many parents very concerned for their children. That's why the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration is trying to make the consequences and dangers very clear to kids while they're at a young age.

I could not believe this article when I first read it. It's sooo terrible that the simplest things can be used so wrongly and that the consequences could be that life threatening. I really hope that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration can get the message across because this is awful. Being 12 years old is wayy too young to start this and at no age is it right.
