On November 5th, in Fort Hood, Texas, a man with a gun shot and killed 13 people. He injured about 30 others. This incident occured at the Soldier Readiness Center; the highest populated US military base in the world. Major Nidal Malik Hasan was taken down by Kimberly Munley. The gunman was injured but not killed. On November 9 Hasan became conscious and could talk. He is being heavily guarded and treated in the Brook Army Medical center in San Antonio.Hasan was born in the United States but is Muslim. Authorites had found postings he had put up on the internet about suicide bombings and other threats. No action was taken. He was said to be completely against any activity against muslims and for things such as suicide bombings. It isn't clear why he shot these innocent people but one guess is that he had a break down because of ideological, emotional, and religious pressures. I can't believe that someone could kill these people. No one deserves to die, especially those who haven't done anything wrong. I feel bad for the families of the people who have been shot.Hasan entered the Soldier Readiness Center at approximatley 1:34 pm. Witnesses said that after he entered the room, he sat down at a table. After bowing his head for several seconds in silence, he started shooting. Hasan used two handguns; a pistol and a revolver. To witness something like that would scar you forever. You would never be able to forget it. It was a sad day in Texas.Among the victims killed at the Soldier Readiness Center, were Michael Grant Cahill, Justin Michael DeCrow, Frederick Greene, Amy Sue Krueger, Michael S. Pearson, Francheska Velez, Kham See Xiong, L. Eduardo Caraveo, John P. Gaffaney, Jason Dean Hunt, Aaron Thomas Nemelka, Russell Gilbert Seager, Juanita L. Warman. The victims killed were between the ages of 19-62.
