today in history we continued with persentations. ashley J went first and talked about the PWA . they did alot of projects on building schools and dams and other things..the next thing she talked about was the FHA it was made to help people pay for the bigger loans and payments. it is still around today for the same reason as it was back when it was first made.Tara went next and her topic were the civil works administration , it was establicked during the great deppression in 1933 it was made to employ millions of unemployed citizens. like construction..the cwa was set up under the federal emergency relief administration. it cost 200 million a month.. it ended on march 31, 1934 under the recomendation of lewis douglasshe also talked about the U.S. housing authority. made to lend money to the states for low cost construction.Al smith who was new yorks govener at the time started public housing for low income people. there was a seperation of normal housing units and welfare units welfare citizens had to haver a 20 percent lower income than the other units. welfare units were only available to the poor yet they had to be worthy of help..Austin K went next and his topics were the buisness and bank and social security. the EBR was also known as the bank holiday the act closed banks, 5000 banks passed the goverment inspection, the banks that passed were insured. the voting was went quick. many banks had to change they way they gave loans and who they ;let bank there and the goverment go tmad because the banks were giving out loans even though they benefited from it. many hoped this act would end the great depression for banks.
