Why did people criticize the New Deal?
They thought that he was doing to much and he thought that people were just getting lazy and that people weren’t going to be able to get up and out on their own.
People also thought that he wasn’t doing enough, and that there should be a check for the disabled and a check for the elderly. Which in the long run, means that he was doing just enough if he had the same amount of people on both sides.
Why was FDR upset with the US Supreme Court and what did he do to try to solve this issue?
They were turning down is New Deal laws and ideas. For every guy over the age of 70, he would add someone to almost ‘match’ man. And since the president gets to choose who he wants in Supreme Court, he would get to choose people who would allow his laws and acts to pass.

Describe the culture of the 1930’s
Key terms:
Hundred days- it’s the first hundred days of every president once he’s in office. And this was when FDR got the most done. FDR was the first to really start this. And ever since, most of the president’s have kind of done the same thing. This was when most of his New Deal ideas were passed.
Fireside chat- this was when FDR would talk to the people by the radio, which made people think he was talking specifically to them in their home. It got the name because people listened to it by their fire.
Priming the pump- when the government spent a lot of money and put out into the economy to jump start the economy all over again. It help us from going back into a terrible depression.
Deficit spending- when the we spend more money than we actually have. Pretty much we’re put into a deep debt
