Monday- We finished the group quiz, and went over forum post topics.
Tuesday- We went over some current events: an American ISIS hostage. Brian Williams apologized for telling a false story of him being on a military aircraft when it was shot down. Then we started on a small project to research government vocabulary : oligarchy and mixed economy.
Key Term: Doctors without borders, doctors that go through out the world helping the places in need.
Wednesday- In the beginning of class we talked about how president Obama was gonna ask for more authority in the war against ISIS. Then we talked about a shooting in UNC. Three people were shot and killed by a 46 year old man, all three victims were Muslims. Then we got to work on our projects.
Thursday- We started off by taking our class quiz. Next we started on our presentations.
Dictatorship- Government by a ruler who has complete power. Examples: Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Josef Stalin, Kim Jong L, and Mussolini
Anarchy- A situation in which there in no effective government in a country or no order in organization or situation. Examples: Somalia, Soviet Union, Iceland,
Absolute Monarchy- A government that is determined only by one ruler. Examples: Brnei, Asia; Oman, Asia; Qatar, Asia.
Constitutional Monarchy- The ruler must fallow the consitution and laws, adn what the people of the nation want. Examples: United Kingdom, Netherlands, Denmark, Monaco, and Luxembourg.
Direct Democracy- Citizens have a good majority of control over certain laws and decisions. Example: Switzerland is the closest example. Government makes law and lets citizens decide if they like it.
Representative Democracy- Instead of people voting, citizens vote for other people to make our decisions. Examples: USA, Canada, Carolinian, and Chile
Friday- In the beginning of class we talked a little about gay marriage. Over 50% already allow gay marriage. Alabama just low passed the gay marriage law. Iowa was the first state to allow gay marriage. Then we talked about the fragile state. What is it is governments failing. South Sudan in the worst of all the countries.
Key Term: Separation of Church and State- religions don't get a say on the government.
