Tuesday- Went over  next map test. Got our Presentation test topics.

Wednesday- Worked on power points.

Thursday- Did presentations.

Friday-Did presentations.

Brian Williams

• Good sense of Humor
• Told people his helicopter was shot with an RPG
  • Other soldiers called him out and said he was not on the helicopter being shot at.
• He is stepping down until the heat dies down.
• Said he saw a body float by during hurricane Katrina
  • Water wasn't high enough to float in.

Obama

• Requested wage of war.

Dictatorship-Government by a ruler who has complete power.

  • Leader of the Iraq (proved effective).
  • Best known dictator in the 21st century.

  • He does the following: Torture, rape, assassination, and Chemical weapons.
  • Executed: political foes, people of Iraq (200,000 people). Crimes against humanity.

• Josef Stalin-
  • Changed to Stalin "Steel" during Russian Revolution.
  • 3 million killed over policies (control famines).
  • Alliance with Hitler until 1941.
  • Killed 20 million during WWII- Working, children, famine.

• Kim Jong II-
  • "Fearless Leader".
  • July 1994, gained power.
  • Esteemed/God-like.
  • Died in 2011 from heart- attack.

• Mussolini-
  • Used WWI to come into power.
  • Created the fascist party in Italy.
  • Black Shirts- Mussolini's military.
  • Invaded Ethiopia, Greece, and sent troops to SC War.
  • Killed by the Italians.

Anarchy- A situation in which there is no effective government in a country or no order in an organization or situation.

  • Government doesn't have control over the country.
  • Terrorist run the country.
• Soviet Union-
  • Late 1980's to early 1900's.
  • Supply products. Not wanted by consumers.
• Iceland-
  • Lose control over economy.

Gay Marriage

• Religion can't play a role in government.
• Iowa was one of the first states to allow it.

Fragile(failed) Countries 

• Africa is in most danger of falling into anarchy.

Absolute Monarchy- Government controlled by one ruler.

Constitutional Monarchy- Ruler must follow constitution have to follow the rulers.

Direct Democracy- Citizens have a lot of control over laws and decisions.

  • Government chooses laws then they pass it down to the people for signing off
    • 50,000 to pass law

Indirect Democracy- People elect representatives
