Italy
-Major events that impacted their country between WWI and WWII.-Didn't have any territorial gains. But there allies did. This led to nationalism. They then became allies with Nazi Germany. Entered the Axis powers in 1940. Allied powers controlled all of Italy in 1944. Treaty of Rasi- Thought they would get more land out of it.
-Discuss basic facts: alliance, total casualties, total cost, war goals, etc-Mussolini was arrested in 1943. This caused a Civil War(1943-1945). Italy lost 454,600 people. About $94 billion dollars were spent for Italy by 1945. Around a trillion dollars today. Italy had poor weapons after Mussolini.
-Tell us about their leader(s) during WWII-Bentio Mussolini-Born 1883, Went to boarding School, Worked in his fathers smithy, Immigrated to Switzerland to avoid military. Joined the army in 1917 to fight Central powers. Fought in the Swiss Alps keeping the Germans out. After WWI he became a Journalist. Used this to convince people about Fascism. Strong dictator. Created His own army. Uses intimidation. He and his army over through Rome and became prime minister. Him and his wife were stopped by 2 communist and killed the following day. King Victor told Mussolini to come to power to keep communist out.

9 Power Pact- Japan had freedom and had open door policy.
Germany-
-Major events that impacted their country between WWI and WWII.-The Soviets into Germany and Raped all Women from age 8-80. October 16-Hermann Goring Commits suicide two hours before his scheduled execution.
-Discuss basic facts: alliance, total casualties, total cost, war goals, etc-Total casualties is around 2 million. Total cost was 1.6 trillion.
-Tell us about their leader(s) during WWII-Adolf Hitler-5 siblings. 2 older. Was in the Army. Chancellor in the Army. Was the leader in 1934 until he committed suicide. Heinrich Himmler-Officer Candidate. Head of Gestapo. Arrested people and put in camps and was very devoted to Hitler. He also committed suicide. Joseph Goebbles-Rejected from the military. In charge of Propaganda. Also committed suicide.

Battle of Moscow-Split the Army between east and west Europe, this caused heavy casualties. Battle of Stalingrad- Considered the turning point of the war. The worst battle due to the great number of casualties. The winter was want helped the Russians fight off the Germans. Battle of Britain-A bombing campaign.

Weimar Republic-New government that signed treaty of Versailles. Democratic Government.
Munich Conference-Hitler was given the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. Hitler promised he was done taking over territories. Known as the "Policy of Appeasement"
Soviet-German Non-Aggression Pact-Russia gives raw materials to Germany in exchange for money and weapons. Both agreed to stay neutral. Secretly agreed to invade and split Poland. Russia would get Finland, Estonia,and Latvia. Germany got Lithuania.
