Monday-No School
Tuesday-First thing we did was go over forum posts and talked about the up coming election. The first video is over the banks energy and the stock market. Banks were closing right and left the banks had no money to pay these people back. Hoover eventually was president and the first thing he did was close all the banks. Hoover said they needed time to completely redesign the banks. It was a total success. This made it impossible for people to get there money out till they re opened. FDIC- Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation this was passed in FDR first one hundreds days. This gurentees people money up to 100,000. This puts peoples trust back in the banks. This ended up strengthening the banking system overall. This system is still around today.
Wednesday- We have just a couple videos left. The first video is about the women of this time. We are also talking about the music industry of this time. Wpa was one of the largest organizations of the new deal. Wpa built 650,000 miles of road 78,000 bridges, 125,000 buildings, and 70,000 miles of airport runway. As you can see this was huge. As the depression set in people stopped going to performances and and such so there was a cut for musicians and artists the wpa helped with that. The Ira was passed in 1934 this allowed native Americas to govern themselves on there own tribal standards. This act was trying to help all the people beside the white american. Native Americans were getting many more opportunities.
Thursday- We are done with the presentation now were reviewing for the test tomorrow. Unemployed- Wpa,Pwa,Cwa,Fera....Farmers- AAA,Fsa,Rea,Scdaa......Young- Nya,ccc.....Elderely-Ssa.....Banks-Fdic, ebra. Farmers were having insane overproduction problems. Tariff- tax on foreign goods. Revue act raised taxes.
