- Country has private ownership. Everything is owned by the people and the people choose what they buy and can start their own businesses. The more you work, the more money you can get. Lots of wealth diversity!

Socialism
- A social and economic system characterized by the social ownership of the means of production
- Most valuable property and estates are owned by the state. No one owns anything, but the society as a whole owns everything together. Everyone gets everything, there is no wealth and there is no poor. Bad: people who don't work still get the same as people who do work a lot. Bad: there is no competition (which breeds better and cheaper products)

- China - Created one of the worst dictators and killed over 50 million

- Soviet Union - Created one of the worst dictators and killed over 60 million
Oligarchy
- The rule of a few people that are more rich and more powerful than the other -- don't come out and say that they are an oligarchy
- Examples:
- Russia
- India - ruled by a small circle of wealthy people
- Britain - poor get poor, the wealthy keep getting wealthy and the Monarchs/Parliamentary do not care
- China - Once a week, the leaders get together and talk about how they want the country to be
Mixed Economy
- Economic system that contains a mixture of markets. Managed by the people who run independent companies and is managed by government organizations controlled by the state
- Examples
- UK - run mostly by market
- Cuba - turning into mixed economy
- USA - free markets
- France - trying to privatize more industries
- Russia
Practice of Communism
- A totalitarian system of government in which a single party controls
- controlled and ran by the government. people do not have the freedom of speech, religion, etc.
- Examples: Last communist countries
- Cuba

- Laos
- North Korea
- Vietnam
- Soviet Union -- FIRST COUNTRY
Theory of Communism
- Political theory from Karl Marx in which everything is equal and there are no social classes and everyone equal.
- Examples:
- No examples of his theory because the government controls everything
Tuesday - ISIS is coming to Libya, part of the Arab Spring a few years ago, and overtaking parts of the country already. So far, ISIS has been sending Lone Wolves to Europe and just recently staring it's start of overtaking the Arab Spring area. ISIS is different by killing whomever and they really are not trying to reunite the entire Islamic world ... It makes is question what they really want. ISIS is also expanding rapidly, which means that the US will get more involved.

Denmark Terrorist Attack: Lone Wolf attack and claimed fidelity to ISIS. Shot several people and the man was killed in a shoot-out. These attacks are happening mostly at places where cartoons are being made because they are 'defacing' the prophet Muhammad.

Wednesday - The best numbers to be part of the Fragile States map/list is around 173 or so which are the most sustainable or the countries that are flourishing. The US is considered sustainable. Singapore is the best non-European/non-North American non-fragile state.

Thursday - Ukraine vs. Russia.

- During WW1, part of Ukraine fought for Austria-Hungary's side and some fought on the Russian's side
- After WW1, Ukraine became a part of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic
- Became independent in 1991 after the fall of the SSR -- The fall started strings to pull and more countries were created
- Has has numerous issues with Russia - people were Russians coming in and are still loyal
- Peninsula in the Black Sea was where the Russians started moving into the Ukraine.
