We discussed the fighting between Syria and the Rebels. It is also believe that chemical weapon attacks are happening in Syria, which is a war crime. We also discussed how the government is discussing limiting the size of gun magazines. Then we watched a powerpoint on the NRA. The powerpoint showed how much money the members of the NRA give to people. We mainly discussed the money that the NRA gives out to support political people based on whether you are for gun control or gun rights. Republicans also tend to be given more money from the NRA because they tend to be Pro gun rights. Next we discussed the Opioid Crisis. Opiod deaths are increasing, even though doctors are beginning to give out Opioids less and less, becoming aware of the addictions and dangers of opioids. We also discussed the difference between Dependence and Addiction. Dependence is when you feel sick or ill without the drug but with Addiction, it means you would do anything -not caring about the consequences- to get the drug and take it. People are more at risk of overdosing on Oxycodone when it is crushed or split in half because when it is split, the coating that gives the drug time before it is digested is destroyed, so the drug kicks in almost immediately. In 1924, Heroin production and sale in the U.S. was banned. Heroin is also one of the most dangerous drug someone can take.
