Failed State

This is my assigned blog topic, mainly based on the term "Failed State," which means a government with a shattered social and political structure. An example of this is how CNN had stated Afghanistan was a failed state, because "after two decades of constant welfare," it was now a "nation in ruins." But the country of Somalia is an even more popular example, as after the fall of Siad Barre, Somalia's former "dictator-like" president, the country of Somalia is know as the world's chief example of a failed state. Their government is currently known as an anarchy, where there is nothing near a normal government, which consists of tax collecting, law enforcement, and the supplying of social services.

This is Siad Barre, the former Somalian PresidentFailed states are physically inable to perform common functions, including security, education, or governance, usually possibly at fault could be the seemingly endless violence or extreme poverty. Sometimes the United Nations or neighboring states step in to prevent humanitarian disasters when people fall victim to competing groups and high levels of crime. On occasions, failed states are not only caused because of factors within the country, but FOREIGN governments even secretively fuel ethnic warfare and support rebel forces which can cause the government to collapse. I am supposed to give my opinion. I don't know how... but I think it's awful that these countries really have no chance to be successful or have any attempt at a government.
