Extra Credit, Too Pass.

1. My website in general

--what do you like and what other options would you like to see?

I like that this website allows us to have our own website kind of like facebook. Also that we can talk amongst our peers. I would like to have it so we can have maybe not as much to write for daily blogs, like just give a short summary saying what we did in a sentance or so and maybe two or one sentance of what we learned. I would like that a lot more I would probably do them then.

2. Message boards-
The message board posts are pretty fun if there is a good topic going on, or even a couple good topics. I always like to start good ones but they get deleted because they are either inappropriate or not school related. I would like to see more topics, like maybe if you got a bunch of different topics yourself that aren't really lame. No offense (ha).. But your message blogs personally aren't very good, i mean like they are just a bit to smart for what the class is about.

3. Daily blogs-
Daily blogs are lame. I think that it is just too long to be writing everything down of what we learn, and in the end a waiste of time, I would rather have like quizes of what we learned over the week or like maybe have you ask or have us write down at the end of the week of what we learned and THEN give us credit for what we have been paying attention of. And if people want to take notes then so be it, I just don't agree with the whole write what we learned, give an opinion etc. etc. This would also allow a lot of different people to even get credit because some kids don't even care for doing the blogs because one, they don't have internet, two they just straight out don't give a crap about what there grade is, and also that the internet 60% of the time is never working therefore once again we wouldn't have to rely on something that is basically not reliable.

4. Assigned blogs-
Assigned blogs I think can be very beneficial but at the same time just a hastle and just a little too much. Like when you're giving us a big project and then on top of that you decide to give us an assigned blog and then it just becomes to much and kids start to just scimming the topic that they had and won't learn anything and just reword or copy right out of wiki, or whatever other site they might be using. Now if we had just an assigned blog for the week, and then not as long of dailys then i think a lot more people would be learning stuff and that a lot more people would even take the time to do it because it wouldn't be as much as what we normally are doing.

5. Your individual websites-
I like these because you can choose your background, you let us have music that is some what appropriate to most students. Also like that people can comment you or you can comment on our page to tell us good or you need to do this more often with just good and bad critisism (sp). I don't know what much to say else. I think it would be cool if there was a certian page that showed us when everything is due, or when everything is going to happen.

6. Oral tests-

I hate going with you Bruns, no offense though. You just make me nervous and then i can't think of everything that i might even know. I like going with Mrs. Brian because well she just doesn't really make me as nervous while i'm taking the test. Also I like going with her because she does really good with trying to get the answer out of you by using the smallest things. But you would have to know even some of the topic to get the clues that she gives sometimes or that she helps push out of you. Sorry Bruns.

7. Semester test setup-

Well I guess it's easy points if you do the semester test blog, because one you will know a lot more about what you need to know about the test if you over read it, also it helps you just get an easy grade for them when really you are just writing things down as you study them. But i'm not for sure about this but i think it would be nice if there was a writtin test for the semester test some people could possibly do better if they are shyer or maybe don't like being tested by the main man. ha.

7. My teaching process/style which goes in a this cycle:
your research--you present--my "mop-up lecture--test/research--you present--

Researching is good if you actually read what you are researching. Some people may be in a hurry and just scim and not learn much. The presenting, I think that you should wait until the person is done doing there presentation, other then interrupting there presentation and putting in your two sense. I think that is really rude and it annoys me a lot because you're basically telling the student in front of the class that you didn't do good enough and you should have had this in your presentation. I think you should take notes saying what you need to say at the end of the presentation, this would also help things go a lot faster and the person can get their presentation done. Or when you ask do you go more into that? I think that is rude, and you should wait your turn to say what you need to. In other words after the presentation....

8. My demeanor as a teacher?
I think that at times you can be a little anal about giving detensions but then again if you think you have to then so be it. It happens. I think you should get a warning for plagurism before a detension instantly. Your facial appearence is normally fine though. you never really are mad at anyone for any reason. I can see you disappointed more than anything. Other then that, I think your demeanor is quite a bit better then other teachers.

9. Do you feel this class benefited you? Why or why not?

The class benefited me, in a couple different way. In one way it can give you or anyone responsibility. Because you have to know exactly what you're doing and get it done on a certain time or you don't get any points. I personally probably did half of the assigned blogs, and the other blogs also. That is why my grade blows. It also benefits us because when it comes to college, we are going to have to research things and you might as well know how before you go or you just aren't going to do so peachy.

10. Other??

I don't think it is fair how we can't get a late grade atleast. You never have let us make a certain assignment up so we could maybe get a minimum of like 15 points for assigned blogs or something like that. Now a presentation is a different story. If someone doesn't have the presentation done, then so be it, give them a zero. But I don't think that you should not give late work credit. It also allows someone to still learn there topic also.
