For our movie this week we watched the movie Enemy at the gates. It was about a very talented Russian sniper and a very talented German sniper. The Russians snipers dad died when he was a young boy his father died so his grandfather taught him how to shoot and use a rifle. During WWII the Russian sniper and the German sniper were after eachother. They each got information about eachother from the same boy who talked to both of them. They were always One step ahead of eachother kind of. If that makes sense. The russian sniper would go through a warehouse with one or two guys everyday and went to an abandoned building everyday and sniped German workers. They would shoot out a communication line then shoot the repair man that crawled across to attempt to fix the issue. And of course whover they saw. One time one of the russian guys went to go get their soup they he prepared for a meal in a different room on a lower floor and got captured by the germans. They dressed him up as the repair man and sent him across while the German sniper watched through his scope so when the Russian snipers shot the repair man which they did not know was their own, he would find their position and hopefully shoot the one he wanted. but when they shot the repair man he didnt not see where the shot was fired from. Until the Russians rigged a helmet so it raised up slowly so the sniper could see it hoping HE would shoot so the talented russian sniper could see his position and take him out but he did not fire at the rigged trap. The Russians decided it was time to change posititions again and so they usually jump across this broken out part of the hallway which completely reveals them but since the German didnt fire at the trap they thought he was there so they decided to go ahead and jump across. The Main sniper for the Russians went second and the one that went with him wanted to jump first. right as he jumped he was sniped in the hid. When he was flying through mid air. It seemed like it was an impossible shot so the sniper knew it was the German sniper that was after him.
At the beginning of the movie there was two guys they were alive and hiding under dead bodies while the germans went around to make sure all the bodies were dead. they had a bolt action rifle and were watching a fat guy take a shower behind a rock and there were four other people around. one guy with glasses watched while the other guy sniped every guy in the area when an explosion happened so nobody could hear the gunshots go off. one of the guards or german army people saw the guy with the glasses peaking over the edge and was working his way over to the are with his gun while the other guys were being shot. he turned around to see all but one of the others dead and started to pull out a grenade to throw over the wall where the other guys were but the guy shooting quickly shot him in the head before he got the grenade off then the last guy attempted to run to safety and the gunner quickly got up, aimed, and fired. he shot the guy running right in the head. It was a pretty good shot. At the end of the army the good Russian sniper killed the German sniper.
this movie took place in Stalingrad. it showed a little on how world war two looked in some places. Things were burnt and buildings wwere destroyed and there was basically just destruction. There were bodies all over the ground. some places you could barely see the ground. people were cruel and there was torture that happened sometimes to get information out of prisoners. World War 2 was a pretty nasty war.
These are the two sniper enemies. The bottom one was in the German army and the top one was in the Russian army.
