Dorthea Lange

Dorthea Lange reminds me of my grandma, minus the profession in photography. My grandma had polio when she was younger, just like Dorthea Lange. My grandma also loves taking pictures, actually shes obsessed with it, but lets get back to Dorthea Lange. Dorthea Lange was a very recognized person during the Depression Era most noticed by her photography. Dorthea went out and took pictures for her job for the Farm Security Adminidstration. One of her famous pictures is called 'The Migrant Mother'. In 1918 something motivated Dorthea Lange to move San Fransisco and open up her own studio. Dorthea's pictures were very touching and there was a lot of strength in them. You could see the hurting in the homeless peoples eyes and know, they had it bad.

She was married twice and had two sons within her first marriage. Two years ago Dec 15th, Dorthea Lange was inducted into the California Hall of Fame.
