Defiance-
For my Third World War II movie I watch Defiance. Defiance is a true story based on the Jews point of view during the War. Tuvia, Zus, and Asael are the main characters, they are brothers. They lived in Poland but found out their parents had been killed by the German Police so they decided to go into hiding to survive during the war
. As more and more people heard about their hiding they ventured to the woods to hide also. Tuvia, Zus, and Asael ran into these people as they were searching for food or running away from the police that were out searching for them.
As more people join the three brothers they start a community type society and help each other survive. They realize they are going to need shelters by the time winter comes around so they decide to get a group of men to build the shelters. As their community type society gets stronger Tuvia becomes leader. Zus always wants to fight and Tuvia and him weren’t getting along at all so Zus took the ones who wanted to fight with him and they excluded themselves from the others.
When winter came around, love was in the air! Asael found a lady that he fell in love with and they decided to get married. Food was becoming short and people were getting angry. Tuvia had many rules and people were beginning to break them. One of the rules was no pregnancies. A lady had been raped by one of the German Officers and she was pregnant. Tuvia was very upset and was not going to allow it until this other lady explained what happened to her. Tuvia and the lady later fell in love.
Times got harder and people wanted to give up. The Germans were flying planes over the forest and bombing their territory it seemed nearly impossible to escape but together they did. They traveled through many rivers connected to each other by belts so they wouldn’t leave anyone behind and so if someone fell in a deep spot they could help get them through it. They had little to no food at this time and women were now allowed to have guns for self defense.
At the end of the movie Zus decided to reunite with his two brothers, Tuvia and Asael. The three brothers lived in the woods for two more years and then went their separate ways!

Personally I liked this movie and thought it was interesting. Some parts were just sad and hard to watch. I thought this movie showed how leadership and team work is important when going through a tough time. I would recommend this movie to any of you who enjoy WWII movies or have to watch a WWII movie for a project!
