For the assigned blog this week, I watched the movie Defiance. Defiance is a movie that was set during the World War 2, in Poland. Three Jewish brothers escape Poland where a massacre of Jews was taking place. The boys fled the city and went into hiding out in the woods by their house. They were very familiar with the land, since they used to live there.
They later find out that both of their parents have been killed. Since the boys had been surviving out in the woods, word got around and more and more Jews started escaping out into the woods. All the Jews try to live throughout the war. The seasons are changing and Winter is on it's way. The brothers, and all the others, decided that it is a must to create a community that could be strong enought to fight back against the Nazis. Tuvia becomes the leader of the group of people that are hiding out in the woods. Since it's winter, people are starting to get sick and they try to steal medicine from the German's. In the end of the movie, some Jews make it out alive, but some get caught and end up dying.
--This movie was not one of the best movies i've seen, but it was pretty good. Good enough to keep watching it anyways. I think it's cool that it was actually a true story, unlike Boy In The Striped Pajamas and others.
