For this blog i watched Defiance. Defiance is a true story that has never been told. Its from jews point of view, while they are trying to escape the horrors of the German Nazis. Three Jewish brothers who live in Poland escape the masacre of Jews thats been happening by hiding in the woods near their home. They find out that their parents had been killed and decide there is nothing else they can do but stay in the woods and try to live through the war. Word got around and more and more Jews decided to run to the forest as well. Tuvia, Zus, and Asael, the three brothers meet more Jews in the forest.
Winter is on the way and they decide that they need to start their own community and fight back against the Nazis. Conflict arises when Tuvia becomes the leader of the people. Zus is strong headed and he and Tuvia constantly but heads. Its winter and people are starting to get sick. They decide they are going to try to steal medicine from the Germans. Difficulties occur and fights break out. Its hard to all get along and live peacefully, but in a time like this thats what they need to do most. Some Jews don't make it and die in the forest, but some survive. Love happens and babies are even born.
I have seen this movie before, but it is really good so i wanted to watch it again. It is one of my favorite WWII movies for sure. I think its cool that its a true story and I had never heard this story or anything like it before this movie.
