Monday- Watched first part of Hotel Rwanda
Tuesday- Took second Asia class quiz, and continued the genocide project discussions,

- Joseph Stalin wanted more power so he started taking food from those who didn't please him -- FAMINE or Genocide depending on peoples thoughts
- 25% of Ukrainian people died -- 3-10 million many records were not kept well-- 30 thousand a day
- Many people would try and feed families off of their gardens and if caught it would be taken and cannibalism happened
- He tried to hide it but then US and other countries started figuring it out and sent a lot of food and grains to that area
- UN didn't exist at the time and since the US didn't really know about it, it took a while until they were able to get food and supplies delivered
- US was at a state of isolation because of previous conflicts so they waited to get involved

- Japanese troops killed and raped people
- They wanted to take this Chinese city down
- almost 1000 women were raped per day-- 100,000 all together
- 40,000- 300,000 killed in Nan King
- It ended when the war ended between the two countries -- after Japan surrendered
- 15 US people had a camp and stayed behind and helped many people and protected them
- Still a big deal between the two countries because Japan never "apologized'

- Pol Pot wanted all resources into farming so it could be a self dependent country so they didn't have to rely on other countries
- he started an evacuation of the people deeper into his own territory for better control
- he had the idea to eliminate an entire social class
- first starved -- only allowed rice
- made people basically dig their own grave
- 1.17-3.4 million--- about 3,155--- .5% of Cambodians were killed
- Kahmerouge were in charge of it
- Ending= United Nations provided aid to the refuges
Wednesday- today we took the Asian map test, discussed the key term test on Friday, and finished the genocide reports, and talked about Human Right's day and Obama's CIA Torture Report. We watched a few minutes of Hotel Rwanda.

CIA Torture Report
Thursday- Today we went over the changes of semester tests and vocab tomorrow, we heard the CIA torture report and discussed it, we then discussed the vocab terms, we then watched Hotel Rwanda.
Friday- Today we took the key term test and watched more of Hotel Rwanda
