Monday- Go over Latin America Maps-test on Friday. We might do U.S. states and capitals for extra credit- still to be decided.
Republican Polls- Trump is at an all time high-up 20 points. Carson has dropped significantly and Cruz and Rubio have risen are a points behind him.
Right to Privacy-
4 types of Privacy Harms-
Intrusions- come into space and tell you what to do (unwanted email and phone calls)
Information Collecting- watch what you are doing more than they should (government asks for private info, wiretapping your phone or email, visual watching)
Information Processing- learn what you do anonymously; can be helpful at times (internet cookies that pop-up and create ads based on what you search)
Information Dissemination- they disclose data to government or companies (use pictures with out permission, untrue or private facts, etc.
Prevention-
- be careful with what you put online
- make sure it is a secure site
- use different passwords for your accounts
- if you get a suspicious email, don't click on any links and delete it
- get virus protection
Right of Publicity- right of individual to control the se of his or her name, image, likeness, or other aspects of identity
Online Privacy- you provide information all the time while whopping, chatting, and traveling(data and info is being stored and possibly saved somewhere)
- once online, nothing can be deleted completely
Facebook collects a lot of info on you and uses user's data and private information to sell it to advertisement companies
Instagram pictures can be sold to advertisers without permission. In 2012, a woman's photograph was used by a vodka company for advertisement- woman sued and won the lawsuit
Identity Theft- the illegal use of someone's personal information (social security, credit card number) in order to obtain money or credit. More than one billion of these cases occurred in 2014
- foster kids are in great danger of identity theft since people can easily access their personal information
Methods Criminals Use-
- open credit card accounts in someone else' name
- steal bank or credit card statements from your mail
- steal your PIN at an ATM, gas station, or grocery store
Sony Pictures Entertainment Hack- in 2014 North Korea was accused of hacking Sony. It is said that the reason for attack was a comedy movie that made fun of North Korea's leader Kim Jong- Un called 'The Interview'
Tuesday- We took our class quiz over the Caribbean and Latin America and got 10/10. U.S. states and capitals will be apart of our Semester Test (no extra credit) and it will be a group test.
Republican Race- According to one newly released poll, Ted Cruz is in the lead in Iowa.
Donald Trump supports the bill to ban all Muslims from the U.S. He has been getting a lot of heat for this since it is similar to what Hitler did (because it is pure fascism and religious segregation). He believes that he is protecting America by banning an entire religion. If he succeeds, the war with Islam will only get stronger since all of these banned Muslims that are following America's laws may turn on the U.S.

#1 Sandy Hook- The shooter, Adam Lanza, shot his mother before coming to the school . 20 students and 6 staff were killed.
#2 Roseburg Oregon (October 1, 2015)- 9 people were killed(18-67 years old)
#3 Texas University (October 9, 2015)- One person died in the shooting and one injured
#4 Bath Township School in Michigan (largest school shooting in history, 1927)-
38 children were killed and 50 were injured

- stricter gun laws and background checks
Most profile shooters are while males around 16-22 (not all have mental illness)
Tuesday- I took the test over Latin America/South America and got %100. We continued with our issue presentations.
Worst School Shootings-
Virginia Tech (2007)- It was the deadliest mass shooting in history; 37 people were killed
Sandy Hook (2013)- 27 people were killed by the shooter Adam Lanza (shooter killed himself and his mother before the shooting, causing it to be 29 in all)

Neo Nazism-
It borrows elements from Nazis laws and symbols, racism, homophobia, support of a fourth Reich, and admiration of Hitler.
Terms-
Ultra-nationalism: promotes one state or people above all others
Ableism: discrimination of disabled people
Xenophobia- intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries
Homophobia- dislike of homosexual people
Anti-semitism- prejudice against Jews
Fourth Reich- a theoretical future German empire to succeed Nazi Germany (third Reich was initiated by Hitler himself)
It started after WWII and originated in Germany. It is currently strong in Austria, Germany, Russia, France, United States, Israel, etc. U.S. is one of the strongest because of freedom of speech.

Neo-Nazism:
Nazi Swastika's are forbidden in Germany; it is a criminal act to display and symbols of the Nazis. Those who believe in Nazi beliefs have to remain quiet, especially in Germany.
Illegal materials with the Swastika includes magazines, CDs, posters, portraits, clothing patches, leaflets, stickers
National Socialist Movement- was founded in 974 and is the former members of the American Nazi Party.. 400 members in 32 states and was spared by the 2005 Toledo Riot.
Toledo Riot- it occurred with NSM planned a protest to African-American gang activity in Ohio. Sparked a 4 hour riot where business' where ransacked and homes were set on fire of African-Americans. October 15, 2005

- Ban hate speech (not effective in America with our freedom of speech)
De-nazification: Took effect in Germany immediately after WWII to prevent creation of new Nazi movements.
