So today in CWI we started by reviewing things in the movie. We talked about the reasons of overpopulation. One reason is because woman have so many babys because that's who is going to take care of them when they are old. Another reason is that men are dominate and want to have babys, and the last thing we talked about was that in their religon it is said that you are suppose to have as many babys as God sends. Then we talked about how Obama said taht he is going to send more troops into Afganistan, but that he sent a timetable for when we get out. Some people think this is bad because then they will just wait until we leave then take over again.Then we started to watch the movie again. They said that everyone wants boys. One statistic was that out of 8000 abortions 1 is boy. I think this is abosolutly wrong. Another statistic was that 350 kids die everyday. One lady said that because some of her children died, she had more kids so that they could take care of her in her old age. People who get one meal a day feel fortunate. One girl said that she was steralized after having two children, because she wants to educate them and give them proper care. She now educates people in her village about how to take care of their children and have less. We then started another section called abuse. There were some people who talked about they were tricked into getting starilized. That the goverment told them they could have some land if they did and so they did it, but then the government went back on their word. That's what I learned about today in CWI.
