Monday- We talked about forum posts. We also filled out the Asian maps. We also talked about Semester tests. We talked about Ferguson and how Darren Wilson resigned.
Tuesday- Was not here today. We took a politican quiz. I am 93% republican.
Wednesday- Went over South Asia map. We also went over the Australia map. We went over an assignment. We discussed the difference between genocide and ethnic cleansing. Genocide is trying to wipe out a race. Ethnic cleansing is when youre trying to move people out of an area, can involve killing. Lexi, Clara, and I are doing the Bosnian genocide. We also talked about the different types of parties.
Thursday- We took a class quiz over southeast asia and australia. We also went over the other maps.

Friday- Went over the maps. Bryce is the next forum post leader. We also dicussed different genocides. Mr. Bruns read an article about what genocide is.
- Darfar genocide- Dafar is the western state of Africa. The people of Darfar called janjaweed went around and killed, raped, and made the water unsafe to drink, so people would move. The Janaweed wanted the land. They have killed 480,000 dead and about 2 million were impacted. !00 people died each day and 5,000 per month. The sudan government funded the janaweeds. Signed a treaty to seize fire. The UN raised the alarm about this, and they tried to find a resolution. Known as the first genocide caused by global warming.
- Rwanda-1994- Located in Africa. Which is south from Sudan. Hutu is the majority of Rwanda. Tutsi got treated better than a Hutu. The Rwanda president was killed in an airplane crash. The hutus went and killed the tutus. About 800,000 tutsis were killed in 100 days. Rwandans (Hutu extremeists) are responsible for the massive genocide. They went over the radio and told people to start killing the Tutsis. It ended when the tutsi military military defeated the hutus and took over the country. The US didn't do anything because they didn't want to be in the middle of another African war.
Armenian/Greek genocide by Turkey-WWI years- The Turkish empire came in and killed all the Armenians and deported all the wives and children. Many women were raped. One to 1.5 million people died. It was basically a death march to the syrian desert. It ended through relief commitee forms.
Bosnian genocide-1992-95- (in google doc) Bosnian serbs were killing bosnian muslims. It ended in cease fire agreements.
Holodomor(Ukraine) 1932-33- Joseph stalin took food from people that wouldn't follow his orders. He would give ffod to people who did follow orders. He starved people. Stalin was associated with hitler before hitler turned on him and invaded his country. Up to 10 million people died and 25% of Ukraine's population. Stalin tried to say that it wasn't his fault for there not being enough food. If he found people eating food, he would take it from you. There was some cannibalism during this genocide. The U.S. provided alot of food (grain) for the countries for that area. The U.N. didn't do anything because they were not around.
Japanese war crimes on the Chinese-Focus on Rape of Nanking-1937-45- Japanese troops killed and raped thousands in Nanking. Almost 1,000 women were raped a day making it about 100,000 raped. 300,000 died. It ended when the war ended. The U.N. weren't invovled because they weren't founded until later. Japan has never officially apologized to china.
Cambodia(Khmer Rouge/Pol Pot)-1975-79- Cambodians starved and buried alive 1.17- 3 million people. Cambodia went up against vietnam to stop this.
- Holocaust- Adolf Hitler gained power in Germany. Germans blamed jews for everything. Jews were cent to concentration and death camps. 11 million people were killed. 1.1 million were children and 6 million jews.
