So today in CWI we watched a movie and took the Canada test. I had an ortho appointment so I showed up late. I only saw about half of the movie, but I figured out that it was about poverty and the difference between life in areas of Africa and a place like America. The definition of overpopulation is not just the huge number of people in the world it's the impact that each person has on the world. It was really scary because their was this family just living on the street and they were just so happy to know that they had suvived another night. Some causes of overpoputation is that woman keep having babys. They said that they don't want babys, but they just keep having them. In one district these people are making house calls to educate woman about ways to prevent pregnancney. They said that many people didn't have any clue about any of it.Another part was about how girls are second to men. They have to work while the boys play, or if they have a baby girl they say you are useless I want a boy. They also said that you have to marry who your parents say, and they can't go to school. I can't imagine living in a world like that. One girl said that she was married when she was seven, but she hadn't met her husband yet. They whole story was really sad. I can't believe people can treat others like that. It's just wrong. That's what I learned about today in CWI.
