Darfur genocide

1. What caused the crisis. In 2003 2 allied rebel groups attacked military installations. The two rebal groups are called the Justice and Equality Movement(JEM) and the Sudan Liberation Movement. following the attacks the US negotiated a peace agreement to end a 20 year old civil war in south of sudan.2. Describe what is happening there. What is going on there is that the rebel groups are seeking to end the regions political marginalization and chronic economic. They also took up to protect their communities. They are protecting their communities with arms against a 20 year old campaign. The campaign is by the government-backed militias. Now there are atleast 3.5 million people that are hungry and 2.5 million have been moved due to violence. That is really crazy! 400,000 people have died so far in Darfur! Thar is really scarey! i would want to get out of there as soon as i could. The International communit is not doing well to protect civilians. Divided is the international communtiy on what to do next. That needs to get fixed nothing is going to stop this if they dont help stop them.3. What is the UN/US doing to help. The UN has sent a peacekeeping mission in Darfur. There is one problem the government opposes to the peacekeeping force to be introduced to Darfur. seriously we should still be able to stop this Genocide or else it will never ever be stoped. The US needs to push aside domestic politics and push for international actions. That is a must to end the Genocide that we can do. We also need to reestablish our role in the world. We are defender of Human rights and need to show it.
