Darfur

The Darfur conflict really began in 2003 when the people accused the government of neglecting their region. The Sudan Liberation Army and Justice and Equality Movement started blaming the government of oppressing black Africans in favor of Arabs. Because of this, they have come under attack with the UN saying there could have been 300,000 people dead. That is a ton of people. There was so much violence, about 2.7 million innocent people such as farmers and villagers from non-Arab groups were forced to flee their homes. There has been 120,000 people leave and go to Chad. The attack mainly began because Darfur was frightened that they wouldn't be able to get sources they needed from Sudan. There have been a lot of people go to refugee camps also. The camps are on the border of Chad and Sudan. The conflict is not spreading into Chad and about 30,000 people have died from diseases already. The Darfur people think that is a good genocide, but obviously the Sudan government disagrees. They think that the people of Darfur are over exaggerating and making a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be. Chad and Sudan have now been at war since December 23, 2005. The US thinks we should send more troops over there to try and solve the issues, but the UN disagrees. They think we should just keeps the troops at the refugee camps. I think everyone should just be able to get along. I know I say this a lot, but I don't understand why we don't. There are always conflicts and wars going on. Let's let freedom ring for once. :)The killing is just brutal. There is murdering, starving, displacing, and even rape. How could do you that stuff to people? The numbers of people that had a part in this are outrageous. There were 4.7 million people affected by the Darfur conflict. There were 2.7 million people internally displaced. There are 240,000 people at refugee camps in Chad. There were 2 million residential people affected by it. There are 3.4 million people recieving food aid now. 65% of the population was affected. 16.1% of the people are starving, and 0.29 per 10,000 people die per day. This is just crazy. Why would someone want to live their life like this? It just doesn't make sense to me.
