Avatar is a new movie that came to the theaters in 2009. Right now the year is 2010, in this movie the year is set to 2154. The Americans were going to Pandora and that is a moon in the Alpha Centauri star system. The humaniods( teh blue people) live on that moon and the Americans are invading it because of its foreign resources. It is kind of like us and the Native Americans how we invaded them.Avatar has been ranked number one for the fourth week. This movie was directed by James Cameron who also directed the Titanic and that movie was also number one ranked. Titanic made $600.8 million domestically and $1.8 billion globablly. Right now Avatar has $429 domestically and $1.3 billion internationally and is still going. Who knows, it might beat Titanic.
Avatar was origianlly thought of in 1994 with an 80 page script for the movie by James Cameron. They were supposed to film it after his movie the titanic,and have it released in 1999; he thought that technology should catch up first though. Avatar can be seen in 2-D, 3-D , and IMAX 3-D.I have not seen this movie yet. I am debating wether i want to or not. It has blue alienish figures in it but then again i heard it was the best movie ever.I heard the way they made it was unbelievable and the moon, Pandora was very pretty and amazing. Writing this blog and learning more about it, it kind of makes me want to see it more.Sources:
