Charla Nash-Chimp Attack

Eight months ago, Charla Nash got most of her face torn off by a crazed chimpanzee. Now, for the first time, she has talked about the incident. She also let people take photographs of her face. Charla has no memory of the attack. For that, she is thankful because she thinks she would have had nightmares about the attack. The woman was nearly killed after being violently attacked by the 14 year old chimp. Sandra stabbed the chimp but could not get him off of her friend. Her frenzied 911 call was saying that her chimp was killing her friend and ripping her face off. The chimp was on a medication called Xanax because he was suffering from Lyme disease.Nash no longer eyes, mouth, eyelids, and nose. She also lost all of her fingers. Charla is considering undeergoing a full face transplant. The first time she showed her face to the public was on Oprah's show. The audience was warned that what they were going to see would be extremely shocking. It is strange to look at her. But i know that this woman is very very lucky to still be alive. When Nash was in the hospital, her room was heavily guarded so that no one could get pictures of her face. Oprah's show was the first time she showed her face. She usually has it covered with a veil so that she doesn't scare people. When Charla was first told that she would lose her sight, she was in denial. I would be too. I can't imagine what she must have been going through. Losing your hands and face is just something that should never happen. I bet the pain during her recovery was just unbearable.Charla Nash is looking into getting a full face transplant and hand transplant. That would make her life a lot easier so i hope that her needs can be fulfilled. Her family is suing chimp owner, Sandra Herold, for over 28 million dollars. Serves her right. Who has a 200 pound pet chimp that is supposedly "their baby?" It just seems awfully weird to me. Luckily Charla Nash is still alive. She has been through a lot. It is very sad.
