The main focus on this section was the new cultural movement of recreation, leisure activities. in the US and how marketing of products was changing in the late 1800s and early 1900s.Amusement Parks- To meet the recreational need of city residents major cities like Chicago and New York started putting land aside usually outside of town for usage as by city dwellers for recreation, in the areas playgrounds were built. Slowly but surely these places became the amusement parks we now know today by adding Ferris wheels and such in the future.New Ways to sell goods- Department stores and Chain stores had just started to appear. Urban Shopping became packed together so shoppers could easily get to everything they needed in one convenient area.Advertising- Advertising jumped in production 9 fold from 1865 to 1900 with a sale from just 10 million to 90 million. Companies were coming up with more ingenious ways to sell the products like billboards.Popular Fiction- As more Americans learned to read many more authors emerged such as Mark Twain and reading became the thing to do.Baseball- Baseball had been around for quite a while as a children sport, but all of a sudden this children sport became a spectator sport with stadiums and adult teams, baseball was very popular to watch in the early 1900s.Coca Cola emerged as a headache relief in the late 1800sMark Twain
