Causes of the Great Depression

Here are some causes of The Great Depression:1. Gold Standard:One of the causes to the Depression, is the gold standard. Many economists believed that after the war, the standard of gold over the years hurt the U.S. We couldn't trade gold with the European countries that were hurt by the war, so therefore we couldn't exchange goods, and better ones economy. After WW1, many Countries like Germany, was in a depression. They couldn't have a standard of gold because they were so poor.2. Inequality of Wealth Income:It is believed that the Inequality of Americans wages, hurt the economy. Wages were increasing, and the production rate was slowing down. Over time, this hurt the economy. Most of the earnings went into profits, and those small profits went into the stock market regularly.3. Breakdown of International Trade:This hurt the economy by having WW1. Most Europeans had forien bank accounts, that were held in the U.S. This led the bankrupt people to have there money dissapear, and never got to withdraw and take the money. This led to the repayment of Germany, and Austria. Woodrow Wilson repaid the debted countries, and then fell as a national deficit, leading to our depression.I think that these are the main causes, although there were many causes that led to it. The inflation, investments made, and little trade and spending so much led to The Depression.
