Brown vs. The Board of Education

through out the years previous to 1954, segregation was legal in the U.S., although 16 states had already prohibited it, the rest of the country were at diffrent standpoints on it, the south having it completely legal, having several books justifying it.

in 1951 several parents a class action lawsuit was filed against the board of education in Topeka, Kansas, the lawsuit demanded that racial segergation be put to an end. when it was brought before the Supreme Court, they voted unanimously rid of segregation, the Brown vs. the Board of Education was one of five cases the Court looked at for this, but this case was unique since the White and Black facilitys were equal in all regards.
