Today in class was a free day. I started to research what a failed state is. In 2009 their are twenty states that have been said to be failed states. The top three are Somalia, Zimbabwe, and Sudan. A state becomes a failed state by failing to withstand the basic conditions.Loss of physical control of territory, which means the country is not taking care of their land or someone has taken it over. Lost authority to make collective decisions, which means that they people are not making decisions as a whole. Inability to provide public services, which means that the government can not provide things like education or social services.Inability to interact with other states as a full member of the international committee which means that they will not be recognized by other states.
