This test was very challenging, sometimes when reading the question if you thought too much about it, it could mean different things depending on the situation. For example the question, is access to healthcare a right? That’s the big dilemma going on right now. Obama says everyone has the right to healthcare. In my opinion reading this question everyone should have the right to access health care, but it is not just a given or a right. You should have to work for it or earn it.I loved the question about, should people that come into our country have to learn our language? MOST DEFINITLY!!! I believe that just like if I went to another country I would have to learn their language, and not expect them to cater to mine. Some of these questions were kind of difficult for me; I have an opinion about them but there really not that high on my priority list. The question about gay people. I think marriage should between a man and a woman, but I would not think any less of them or judge them if they did.I am very proud to be an American, and I am not afraid to say so. I believe that no one should ever disrespect the flag and what it stands for. This is one place where the government should intervene and people should be punished if this were to happen. I still believe today that President Bush did the right thing with the war in Iraq. He kept our country safe, after 9/11. I feel that it's always good to try to talk the situation through, which does not make us look weak. Yet if they did not comply war is necessary sometimes.I think that offensive language is unnecessary. I think it makes people look ignorant. I think any time people are exposed to violent video games, television, or people it’s very harmful. I then think people act out that way or make them think that way. I also think this ties into problems when young people don’t respect elders. My mom always says that she is going to make her kids behave and respectful, or she will die trying.I think this was a very good assignment, it made me really think a lot about my beliefs and views.3Madison
