Political Spectrum Quiz
..Some of the most important issues that we went trhough on the political sprectrum quiz today were abortion, gay marriage, wages, and language. I have mixed feelings on alot of these topics and some of the topics just really donn't matter to me. I'll share my views with you...Abortion is a topic that is very touchy. Personally, i am against it. I think that it is wrong to take the gift of life away from an unborn child. I understand that when a young girl(18 and under) gets pregnant, it causes a major issue. It would be hard to support a child and it changes your future dramatically. So i can see where people get the idea that it isn't wrong. But i still think it is....Gay marriage is another topic that is often discussed. I think that if you love someone it shouldn't matter what gender you both are. I am completely for gay marriage even though it doesn't affect me. I know some guys that used to live in Harlan that were gay and very nice people. Gays should not be discriminated for the way they express their love...Some people think that a minimum wage should not be posted. I think that minimum wage can be very good but also bad in some cases. Without a minimum wage requirement, some people would recieve less than $7.25. Those businesses would lose employees and end up raising there pay... The last topic that i found interesting, was language. Some people think that when a person from a different country come to the United States, that they need to learn our language rather than us learning their language. I agree completely with that. I think it is ridiculous that we have to take up to 4 years of spanish just to get into a good college. If they come to our country, they should learn our language. To me, these are the most important topics in todays world.
