Blog...Assigned Blog

This is my assigned blog for the week. It is about Senator James Inhofe's views on Global Warming. In this, he states:-If the end of the Little Ice Age comes, OF COURSE there is going to be warming.-The meek one degree Fahrenheit came along with the largest development of living standards, longer life expectancy, the production of food and human health in the history of this fair world. Using this information, there is no way to prove Global Warming will have a negative outcome or a catastrophic trend.-During the Little Ice Age, countless people died in the harsh conditions, and the New York Harbor froze over, which higher global temperatures probably wouldn't have an effect in such manner.-There are holes in the Global Warming theory, which is that CO2 emissions caused the spike in the temperature. This is because the rising temperatures began in 1850, which was very long before the possible man-made CO2 emissions could have affected the climate. Later, in the 1940's, when man-made CO2 emissions abruptly skyrocketed, the global temperatures DECLINED, despite recent thoughts.-A new study in Geophysical Research Letters shows that the sun is responsible for up to 50% of the temperature increase.-Over the past few years, the Antarctic Ocean is colder, and the amount of ice there has been increasing.-The alarmists of global warming have predicted many different environmental issues to come, but none of them have come true. The more these predictions fail, the more outrageous the following predictions become.-Although changing to fluorescent light bulbs may be a smart, more "green" thing to do, thinking that alone can help avert climate change is crazy.-Alarmists believe if we continue to expand energy production, the planet will suffer. But the truth is, if we refrain from expanding energy production, billions of people will lose jobs and suffer.-The only way to reduce CO2 emissions is to use cleaner, more efficient technologies that will meet energy needs.-Another reason not to believe frenzies about climate change is that the media keeps changing their mind. Dating back to even 1895, Senator Inhofe quotes how they expect another ice age, and the same in 1912. But in the 1930's, they claim global warming is the next new thing, which was later changed back to an ice age in the 70's.-This past year, there has been multiple media reports about Global Warming, including some headlines, such as: "Be worried. Be VERY worried" on Time Magazine and many more.

This is the cover of the April 3, 2006 Edition of Time Magazine, which speaks of Global Warming Threats-In his movie, Al Gore made many incorrect claims on many issues, saying absurd things, like polar bears are drowning in large numbers, while they are in fact flourishing, and that the sea levels would rise massively, although it was backed by almost none of the alarmist literature.-The media, for some odd reason, likes to believe that warmer temperatures on the planet cannot have ANY possible positive effects for animal and plant life or food production.-Because of the abuse of the topic of global warming, people have became skeptical, or doubtful, on the topic, part of it being because of annoyance.-Senator Inhofe knows stopping the media's predictions of hysteria will not be easy, as it "sells easily," but we want to get the media to ignore the legitimate voices in the scientific world and stop being promoting hype for chaos.

This is Senator Inhofe, the Man of the HourThose are the main points of his, uh, little speech-esque thing. My opinion on it is, I agree entirely. I think it's all in the heads of the media, and we just need to settle down on some things like this, although it's good to help out by making small changes in our daily lives.
