I did my blog topic on Dorothea Lange.Dorothea Lange was a famous photographer during the crash. When she was 7 she got polio in her right leg. It didn’t affect her that much but it did give her a slight gimp. Her gimp helped her blend in with the people on the street after the crash. When she was 12 her dad had left her and her mom, so Dorothea had to give up her middle and last name and took on her mom's maiden name.
During the crash she became a famous photographer. Her photos helped American see what was happening from the crash. Her most famous picture is of the migrant mother. This picture showed people what was going on the streets.Dorothea said that the woman did not ask questions on why she was taking pictures of her. What the mother told her was her age and that she was 32 and had been living on frozen veggies and the birds that the children had killed on the street. The mother had sold her car tires to try and help buy food to survive.
