Army

Child for Darfur

The Darfur-Sudan conflict started in 2003 because the Sudan Liberation Army and the Justice and Equality Movement were treating the Arabs better than the Africans. Africans started attacking the government under the accusations. The Sudan Government wasnt really prepared for an attack, so they didnt have any Military ready, but they did have one Militia in the area that was supposed to rid the area of ALL the black Africans...the Militia was called: Janjaweed. The situation now has seemed to get worth because the estimated number of deaths is getting higher. Its somewhere aroudn 300,000 to 400,000 people have died during the past 5 years. But the strange thing is, I've never really heard about this...all these people are dying and they could seriously use our help but we're up in Iraq and Afghanistan where they could get taken off by themselves and thrive, but these people have no help at all, and could seriosly use it. Women and children and the innocent people have no where to go. And the violence has spread. All throughout Darfur and is now slowly seeping into Chad. The Janjeweed is causeing alot of this and now, over 100,000 people have fled Chad because of fear of dying. The U.S. and the U.N. refers to all these killings as Genocide. The Janjaweed is trying to kill all black Africans. The U.N. sent a African/UN union to try to keep the peace but you cant keep the peace all that well if the people there arent willing to stop the violence. There have apparently been many attempted peace treatys but none of them have worked...They just continued with the violence continued. In 2007 the Sudan President was charged with three counts of genocide and ten counts of war crimes, plus two counts of murder. And just think...none of this would have happened if Sudan would have just treated everyone equal and got along. I guess that whole...chain reaction is just one person, one group, one country could just destroy everything.. Examples: Look whats happening in Darfur, Iraq,Germany during the Holocaust. But the weriod thng is that all of those things were caused by one person or group.
