blog 16

I am doing my blog on the weapons of world war one. Chlorine gas was the first gas used by the Germans. gas caused a burning sensation in your throat, so you pretty much suffocate. mustard gas is the most deadliest gas. It was fired into trenches, which caused plucking. internal and external bleeding, and blistering of the skin. The thing that I think would suck the most is that it would take 5 weeks for the full effect which is death to be complete. I would rather die right away than suffer for 5 weeks.

Rifles were used in trenches and in one minute 15 rounds could be fired and could kill someone that was 1400 meters away. A machine gun took 4-6 guys to shoot and had the power of 100 guns. I didnt know that machine guns were that strong that it took that many people to control it. Field guns were like machine guns but only much bigger. A field gun took 12 men to operate and shells fired from the gun would be fired on impact. The first tanks in the war had to be manuvered by three people. It could only reach the speed of 4-5 miles per hours which is really slowwwww. By the end of the war there was a redesigned tank which could carry 10 soldiers and made shooting easier.

blimps were another weapon, but was not much use. It would carry bombs for bomb raids and also machine guns. Planes were used for spying and delivering bombs and supplies. Later planes has machine guns and cannons on them. A dog fight is when two planes are fighting in the air. Submarines were very helpful in the water. They could blow up ships in the water that were carrying suppies for the enemy.
