News Paper ArticalsLeigh Occhi was 13 and was still in her pajamas the morning of August 27, 1992, when her mother left their home in Tupelo, Mississippi to go to work. August 27, was the last day of Leigh's summer vactaion. That day Leigh planed on going to the open house of her new school that morning with her grandmother. After her mother left for work Leigh stood outside to wait for her Grandmother. When Vicki Felton (mother) left for work Hurrican Andrew was just about to move over Tupelo Mississippi. Worried about the hurricane she called home to check on her daughter, but her daughter did not answer the phone. When she got home the garage door was open and the light was turned on, and the only way that could have happened was if someome triggers the door. After she went into the house she noticed there was blood on the side of the wall. After the police got there she noticed there was blood and her hair on the door frame and a trail that lead to the hallway, to the livingroom, and the backdoor. But the rest on the house bariy had any blood on the tables, counters, etc.. So it was pretty obbious that someong tried to clean up the scene, but they could not find any towels or rags. The Detectives found no sign of forced entry and her mother and grandmother said that she never opened the door to strangers.About a monthe after she disappeared a package arrived on their door step. When they opened it. They saw Leigh;s glasses. The package came from a town named Booneville, Mississippi about 30 mile away form Tupelo.To this day Leigh woulf be 30 years old...
