WWII Movie
For my third WWII movie, I watching Boy In The Striped Pajamas.
Personally, I enjoyed this movie. Its about this little boy about eight years old, Bruno. His family moved from Berlin to the country where his father was a Nazi officer at a nearby concentration camp. Bruno had always thought of his father as a great man, and thought that what his father did was right, and acceptable. One day, Bruno disobeyed his mother and wondered off into the woods. While he was out wondering around, he had met a boy: the boy he had seen out of his window a couple of times. THe boys name was Schmuel and they werent allowed to spend much time together. Schmuel always wore the same blue striped pajamas and was always hungry, as if he wasnt fed very good.
Bruno had soon began to sneak food to Schmuel, until he got caught with the food. Bueno then lied, knowing itt was wrong, to save his one and only friend from getting into trouble. Bruno asked Schmuel to bring him the same striped pajamas so he coulld crawl under the fence with Schmuel. Bruno wanted to find his father. The boys were then asked to take their clothes off after being shoved into a building after sirens were alarmed. The boys had thought they were going to be bathed, but what was really a gas building! When his mother realized her son was missing, she had called her husband, Brunos father. He had sent out a search, and when heard sirens going off and found his sons clothes by the hol dunder the fence, he got worried. He stopped the gas building, but found that it had already been too late. Bruno had died with his one and only friend.
I ABSOLUTELY hate learning about the war, but i LOVED this movie. It was very sad, but I thought it was unique. Bruno was a strong character, and i thinki that he realized that what his father did was not right at all. He stuck by his friend, and i think that if he konw what was going on, he would have saved his friend. I think it proves that not only are concentration camps an unfair and dangerous and terrifying place, but let an officers child in without noticing, and killed him.. IM glad that Brunos father went through what all those other families in the concentration camp went through.
