Bessie Coleman was the first african amarican to fly a plane. Shes was born in Atlanta Texas in 1882 on January 26. She had 13 brothers and sisters and her parents names are Susan and George Coleman. Bessie was well educated but only had enough money for one semester at her college.Bessie was good at math and started working as a laundress. She heard about flying lessons but she the school was in france so she had to learn french. Bessie went france in Nov. 1920. she was the first american to get her pilot's license from theher school. Bessie started doing air shows in diffrent states she was prasied by both wight and black people.Bessie was in a tarrible accient on April 30th 1926 that broke every bone in her body and was killed.
