Today we got into our groups and talked about our blogs. We summarized exploration as being people going out to explore and get money.We learned Colonization was how countries created towns in a new land so that they could expand their countries control. Portugal colonized South America were as Spain controlled Mexico and parts of North America. England was mainly the East Coast and the French got Canada and the Mississippi River.Next was the Revolutionay War. This started because we Britain was taxing us a lot and we had no representation in the government. The French helped us against the British and we eventually won and gained our independance. We had a greater cause to fight for and we were fighting on our home field.Articles of Confederation was the first government that the US set up. It failed epically. All the power went to the state government. None of the currence or laws were the same state by state. Land and Northwest Ordinance were the only ones that weren't failures.
